Get $5000 to build your indie maker business

Applications are now closed. We'll announce the selected projects tomorrow June 1st!

How does it work?

Who are you? Why are you doing this?

We're the team behind Tweet Hunter, the all-in-one tool to attract new opportunities on Twitter. We're very excited to say we just hit a major milestone: $1 million in ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue). But we also remember where we were just a year ago: 2 dudes with an idea, $0 in revenue, and 0 users. So we thought it'd be cool to give back and help out fellow indie makers succeed.

What can I get to help my business?

The main prize is $5000 USD.This money can help you with building, design, marketing, anything related to your product. You choose!2nd and 3rd place will respectively get $1000 and $500.Every winner will also get a consultation call with the Tweet Hunter co-founders so you can get advice and ask questions on how to build your product and business.

How can I win the grant?

Doesn't matter who you are or where you are based. The only requirement to be eligible to get the prize is to be building a product that's making less than $5,000 in revenue. You have until May 31st to apply. We'll then review all applications and select our 10 favorite ones. These will be submitted to a vote to the general public (i.e. folks on Twitter) until June 8th and the winners will be announced on June 15th!All you need to do right now is apply.Note: to be eligible, your product can be no-code or require programming, but it has to be different from an info-product, course, resource or community.

Oh damn.

Damn right.

More questions?

What kind of products specifically are eligible to win a prize?

There is only 1 rule: your product must be considered a "technical" product. By that, we mean it has to have this "app" feeling to it more than a course or community or newsletter vibe. That's it.Your product can still be at the idea stage.Undergoing development or already released.Require programming or be 100% no-code.It can be free or paid.

Why isn't my course / newsletter / resource eligible? Is it not a product?

We love infoproducts. They're often amazing and provide a lot of value to the people who purchase them. But there's 2 reasons why we decided not to let them be eligible:- Infoproducts are a little easier to build without a big budget. They can take just as much time to make as technical products, but time and knowledge is almost all they require. We feel the money will be more useful for technical products that need external and expensive tech to grow.- It's very hard to judge the quality of an infoproduct if you don't really know the topic and spend hours and hours reading/watching it from start to finish.

How will you select products that go to the voting phase?

As makers, we just love products. And (we think) we have a pretty good eye for it.We'll personally read every single application and, amongst the eligible products, we'll select our favorite 10.We'll look at 2 things when selecting the top 10 products:- the product itself, the problem its target audience faces and how the product solves it- the person or small team building the product, their overall skills and what they need to succeedThese elements will give us an indication of whether we feel the product has a real shot at becoming a thriving business, and this is our only criteria.

How does the voting phase happen?

On June 1st, we'll publish a page featuring all the products that made it to this phase.People will be able to vote for as many projects as they want. All winners will be announced on June 8th.About people attempting to cheat:There will definitely be protections so that a single person cannot vote twice for a project. We have no issue with you communicating about the grant and rallying some of your friends and supporters for this vote. But if we see any weird stuff going on (i.e. spam or fake accounts), we'll do an audit and may end up disqualifying your product.

What's Tweet Hunter? Why do a grant?

Tweet Hunter is the tool we built to help people grow and monetize their Twitter audience. It includes a wide variety of features, from content inspiration to scheduling, along with automations, analytics, CRM and more!We launched exactly a year ago and recently hit an important revenue milestone: $1M in Average Recurring Revenue. In celebration of this achievement, we decided to create this grant to support makers everywhere.
